Everything you need to set up, use, and share your U Black Card digital identity.

Set Up Your Digital Profile
Use the U Black Card Digital Profile Request Form to create or update your profile. Open the link provided by University Print & Mail Services and enter the following:
- Full Name
- Title
- Department / Unit
- Phone Numbers (work, cell, office, etc.)
- Email Address
- Website(s)
- Profile Photo
After submission, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a link to your U Black Card digital profile.

Using Your U Black Card
Your physical U Black Card contains a secure NFC link that opens your digital profile instantly. To share your information:
- Ask the recipient to unlock their phone.
- Tap your U Black Card on the back of their phone.

Near the upper back of the device
Android
Near the center or upper back (varies by model)
If NFC does not activate, the recipient can scan the QR code printed on the U Black Card to open the same profile page. Some older phones or devices with NFC disabled may only work using the QR code.

What Recipients Can Do
When your U Black Card digital profile opens, recipients can:
- Tap to call your phone numbers
- Tap to send you an email
- Open your website(s)
- View your department and role
- Copy, share, or bookmark your profile link
- Email the link to themselves for future reference
No special app is required. Everything works through the device’s standard browser and phone applications.

Updating Your Information
Your U Black Card digital URL remains the same, even if your information changes. You may request profile updates at any time through University Print & Mail Services.
- Updates are applied to the digital profile immediately
- The physical U Black Card does not need to be reprinted unless lost or damaged
- Your NFC link and QR code will continue to work with the updated profile

Tips for Best Performance
- Hold the card in place for 1–2 seconds when tapping.
- On some Android devices, NFC may need to be enabled in Settings.
- Thick, metal, or wallet-style phone cases may interfere with NFC reading.
- Save your personal U Black Card profile link so you can also share it via text, email, or messaging apps.
