What to Recycle

Recycle the entire toner cartridge once it’s empty. No disassembly required.

Campus Waste Services

Recycling & Waste Management – Printer/Toner Cartridges HERE — Save each cartridge’s original box and place the empty inside to avoid spills. When you’ve collected at least five, call 801-581-7200 to arrange pickup from your office.

How to Recycle On Campus

Label clearly. Mark the box “For Recycling – MPS” to prevent accidental disposal.
Stage for pickup. Leave the box at your printer station’s supply area or your department’s designated recycling spot.
Pickup/collection. Your MPS technician or custodial team will collect during regular rounds. For larger quantities, request a bulk pickup.

Tip: High‑volume departments can request a designated toner recycling box to keep near the device.

Do Not

Attempt to empty waste-toner containers. Seal the container and dispose of it in the trash (not recycling).
Place toner cartridges in standard campus recycling bins. They must be processed via POA or Campus Waste Services.
